Talk : Currency and Interest Rate Outlook
Speaker: Ray Choy is Regional Head of Fixed Income & Currency Research at RHB Banking Group and leads a team of research professionals located across Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta. Ray’s experience in the financial markets since 2002 includes G3 and Asian fixed-income and currency strategy, domestic currency and US dollar global bond funds management, regional equities investments, and credit ratings. Over the last decade, Ray has set up two fixed income research teams for investment banks; a team involved in global funds management and research; and currently manages RHB Banking Group’s regional fixed income and currency research platform across strategic business units in Asia. Ray’s team also functions as an integral advisory unit within RHB Banking Group, providing research insights to debt capital markets, global markets, treasury and risk management. In addition, he remains actively involved with the financial markets in formulating and communicating macro strategy for the fixed income and currency markets, providing advice on sovereign credit ratings and has written comprehensively on the link between systemic risks and bond markets.

Bernard is the country head of Indirect Tax and Goods and Services Tax (GST), the lead partner for Financial Services and a Tax partner for Business Tax Compliance in EY Malaysia’s Tax practice.
Since joining EY in 1995, he has been actively involved In tax compliance and consultancy work for both corporate tax, tax advisory, indirect tax and goods and services tax (GST). He has experience conducting tax due diligence, tax documentation reviews and tax audits, tax training, indirect tax planning and advisory, tax planning schemes for large local and multi-national corporations, as well as applications for licences, incentives and tax exemptions. Bernard’s clients comprise a wide range of local companies and multinationals mainly in the financial services, oil and gas, insurance, trading and consumer products industries.
